NEW YEAR, NEW SKINCARE: HOW TO LOOK AFTER WINTER SKIN

With a range of products that count Megan Fox, Dita Von Teese and Jessica Biel as fans, you’d be hard pressed to find a facial that holds as much promise as this one. Designed for women in their 20s and 30s who aren’t quite ready for a full ammo of anti-ageing products just yet, this treatment gives skin the boost of spot-fighting and free-radical protection it needs in order to duke it out against those pesky early wrinkles. With key ingredients including redcurrant and a potent Antioxidant Complex, it poses a triple threat for winter weary skin in terms of hydration, vitality and elasticity. The fan club can count me as a member now too. My skin has never felt so soft after a facial and that was all thanks to the magic hands of Mami Tsang, the owner of Chi Yu Wellness Centre and GTG Expert. (Get the Gloss Link).

Integrated Therapy in Chi Yu. Don’t let the name put you off. I’ve sent countless friends, family and colleagues into the firm hands of the Chi Yu team for this treatment and all have returned rapturous (some even claiming lifelong ailments felt alleviated).

What does it consist of? In short, it is a combination of therapies – meridian massage, reflexology, acupuncture – to redress imbalances particular to you. The team at Chi Yu are wonderful at understanding the form and this treatment is therefore different for each individual on each separate visit depending on what is necessary. Throw in the fact that this isn’t just a session that is deeply relaxing, but has knock-on benefits, and you could not spend an hour (or two) anywhere better to fortify yourself prior to New Year’s Eve. “The feeling of stagnancy is a hard one to shake. After the vigour of summer months, by mid-October, I usually feel comparatively inert and heavy.

Chi Yu offered a potential answer – a Jade & Bamboo massage. What the dickens is a Jade & Bamboo massage? A little online research proffered the following explanation: bamboo, once heated and rolled across the body, increases circulation and promotes relaxation.” Read more (article link) or PDF version. Swedish Magazine Amelia – Review of Chi Yu

Swedish Magazine Amelia – Review of Chi Yu

Article by: AmeliaSwedish beauty magazine London beauty trends page 4

In Swedish:

Vad: Den japanska behandlingen chidoriya.
Effekten satt i länge – världsklass!

English Translation:

Japanese Relaxation
What: The Japanese Treatment Chidoriya.
About the treatment: A fantastically beautiful treatment room, amazingly skilled beautician, heavenly Japanese music and wonderful products. It’s difficult to keep track of all the steps and ingredients while I’m being given the thoroughly well-being experience.
This is how it’s done: The treatment is done with among lots of things, nutty aromatic rice bran, massage with small silk cocoons, green matcha tea, and skin strengthening powder of pulverized pearls. The effect lasted for long – world class treatment!

“A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to attend an event at the Chi Yu Wellness centre to hear all about their latest nutritional products from Well Well Well and test out a few of their most popular treatments.

If you were wondering where the name of this spa comes from “chi yu” actually means ‘healing’ in Japanese. ‘Shizen chiyu ryoku’ means the body’s self-healing ability.  The centre is very much targeted at improving your state of physical well being using a mix of modern western and traditional Japanese methods, which are reflected in the spa’s contemporary, yet classic Japanese interiors. The are five treatment rooms (including a double treatment room), which are individually themed to reflect the ethos of chi yu and provide a tranquil environment. Chi Yu also incorporates a wellbeing boutique, where you can purchase a selection of skin care, teas, supplements, candles and other luxury home & travel accessories.” Read more (article link) or PDF version.

Madeleine Loves – Chi Yu Integrated Therapy Review

Article Post by: madeleineloves.com 25/04/2012

Belinda was right. Heaven is a place on earth, and I’m about to give you the address and a discount to ease you through the pearly gates.

It is called the Chi Yu Wellness Centre. When I first walked in the doors of this little haven just off Marylebone High Street, I really didn’t feel very well. I’d been incinerating the candle at both ends and hadn’t been able to switch off for days. Most of you will know the symptoms: racing mind and racing heart, married with the feeling you spend your life racing around town in the big rat race. Read more (article link), or PDF version. Urban Life Online – Review

Urban Life Online – Review

Article Post by: Urbane Life 09/03/2012

Urban Life Magazine Online, March 2012 (Chi-Yu press coverage)

Therapists are a mixed bag; they all look great in brochures but very few actually leave you feeling like your money has been well spent. On this occasion however, I am pleased to say that a session with Mami Tsang, the founder of Chi Yu, was more than worth every penny and extremely memorable!

After an initial 15 minute consultation; more thorough than any I’ve had to date, I opted for a signature massage using aromatherapy oils. Using a combination of Shiatsu, Swedish and Thai massage techniques, with a bit of reflexology, I was treated to one of the best and most effective treatments to date. Waiting Area 2

My feet are always tired. From running around town to walking to and from work daily, I’m convinced my feet would sleep for a few months if they were given the chance. I dragged them along to the urban zen of Chi-Yu Wellness Spa situated behind Marble Arch in London for a spot of reflexology. I had read nothing but amazing reviews of reflexology, and how it can pinpoint problem areas in the rest of your body so I was excited but anxious; could my therapist tell that I eat far too much chocolate or bemoan the fact my pedicures are less than frequent? Luckily not, but instead she could tell that I suffer from minor digestive problems (I do), I have tension in my left shoulder (again, guilty) and even that I often hold my true thoughts inside (spooky, as yes, I do). In basic terms, reflexology is a wonderful, revitalising, soothing foot massage but if you want it to at Chi-Yu, it goes a lot deeper than that. If you are having any health problems, even something as run of the mill as a cold, tell the reflexologist and they can focus their attention on the corresponding area of your foot.

I left the Chi-Yu Wellness Spa with a definite spring in my step plus was shown which part of my foot attributed to my digestive system – no more bad tum for me.

Have you experienced reflexology?

LatestinBeauty.com – Year of the Water Dragon Treatments

waiting-area-1

With the Chinese New Year celebrations over, it’s time to get serious: 2012 is the Year of the Water Dragon, a year that is destined for many of us to kick annoying bad habits, have a stronger sense of empathy towards others and encourage us to co-operate with natural energies, rather than fighting them.

Get to harnessing this energy and make it a year to remember with the Chi Yu Wellness Centre in London, which has created a range of treatments to do just that. From an Oriental Aromatherapy Massage, using essential oils to balance the five elements, to the Blueberry Bliss Firming Body Treatment, which builds on the water element of the dragon sign to hydrate the body. If you fancy getting your chi on, find out more about the centre’s treatments – and how they can help to make this your best year yet – by visiting the Chi-Yu website here.
